Yellowstone National Park
Fishing Trips
Listed
as
one of "Top 10 places to Fly Fish in the World", Yellowstone
National Park offers fishing experiences like no other.
Casting to rising trout while bison and elk graze along the
edge of the stream is an experience you will not soon forget.
Add to that steaming geysers and boiling mud, and you have the
makings of a trip of a lifetime.
Our guides are some of the lucky few in the area that are
permitted to guide these magical waters*.
There are a seemingly infinite number of lakes and streams to
fish in Yellowstone. The Firehole, Gibbon, and Madison
Rivers offer easy access wade fishing for browns, rainbows,
and grayling. The Lewis River system and Lewis Lake
offer the opportunity for Mackinaw and Trophy Brown Trout
while fishing from our comfortable drift boats. Beyond
those waters are dozens of other streams ready to be explored
by you and your guide.
Most of the fishing in Yellowstone is very family friendly,
and a great way to get off the beaten path. A way to see
the parts of the park that 99% of the visitors never get to
see.

Fishing Seasons of Yellowstone:
June: Yellowstone National
Park opens for fishing at the end of May. We typically
start guiding on the Firehole River which is warmed by the
many geysers in the valley, including Old Faithful.
Later in May, the famous Salmon fly Hatch works its way up the
Madison, Gibbon, and Firehole Rivers. Our guides will be
there to put you onto fish while you are surrounded by some of
the most surreal scenery in the world.
July: We call the Lewis
Lake and Lewis River system "20 inch heaven". That's
because 20 inch fish seem to be the norm here. All July
long, day in and day out we catch (and release) large brown
and lake trout is this unbelievable watershed.
August & September: Despite
the good fishing to be had in many Yellowstone waters at this
time of year, we focus our guiding further south in the
Jackson Hole area. This is because late summer is "prime
time" on the Snake River and not to be missed.
October: This is where
Yellowstone Park is one of the top fishing destinations in the
world. It's a bit of an effort to get to the "honey
holes", but for those up to the adventure you will be rewarded
with sight casting to 18 - 28 inch Brown Trout.

you this magical place.
