Jackson Hole Anglers
Fishing Report
September 07, 2010
The Jackson Hole Anglers Fly Fishing Report is updated
often throughout the season. Please check here regularly
for current fishing conditions, what the trout are feeding on,
and flies to use.
Snake River:
Fall has arrived here in Wyoming. Cold nights crisp
days, what more could a fisherman ask for. The fishing
on the Snake right now is fantastic. The upper river is
enjoying hatches of Mahogonies and Hecubas. Down in the
canyon, fishing large foam patterns is still the trick.
Either way you can't go wrong. Enjoy this most wonderful
time of year in Jackson Hole.
Green River:

The Green is currently too low to float. The cooler
nights will make for good wade fishing in the campground
sections. As the irrigators stop drawing water, the
Green will come back up to a floatable level this fall.
Snake River Tributaries:
The tribs are on fire as well. Usually these
fish aren't too picky, a chernobyl up top with a copper john
below should get the job done.
Flat Creek:
Flat Creek fishing has been tough. The water is low
and the fish numbers seem to be down. If you do head out
there, be stealthy and bring lots of patterns.
Firehole River:
With the cooler weather returning, look for the Firehole to
turn back on. Drakes and Mahogonies for dries, and small
woolly buggers are good things to bring up to Yellowstone.
Lewis Lake:
Lewis Lake and the Lewis River continue to fish well. Stripping streamers in the cover and
bouncing nymphs on the flats will produce large Browns and
Mackinaw.
Jackson Hole Anglers guides fishing trips on all of the
above rivers. We offer both fly fishing and spin fishing
trips on many waters in the Jackson Hole area and throughout
western Wyoming. Give us a call for an unforgettable
